Funding Available through Appalachian Regional Commission

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), established by an act of Congress in 1965, has funding available to help communities that have been negatively impacted by the coal industry. The POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) Initiative provides grants to communities and organizations located in the 420 counties that make up the Appalachian Region for projects related to workforce and entrepreneurship development, broadband, industry cluster development, and responding to substance abuse.
Applications are due April 10, 2019. Approximately $45 million is expected to be available this funding round. The amount of match required varies by county.
